An African Setting
It's been brought to my attention that Lucas is seriously out posting me and since this is obviously a competition I feel obligated to make some sort of half-hearted attempt to catch up. It just so happens that I'm in no mood to post at all so here goes.
Tenacity in Tamale
It's been two weeks since I posted a blog post (though only one since I wrote one). I didn't take time to think about what I was going to write about this time (since the focus of last week's unposted post was asking for your input) so you'll have to read it to find out. Right now there is about a 50% chance that it will end up being a profile about my community.
A Day at Play
Recountability
Explanitory Ramblings
Relentlessly the pleasant afternoons push on, hardly giving me a chance to fabricate excuses as to why my blog posting has been sporadic, inconsistent, and largely strange. I won't make up for last week, and this will be the only post this week, but I expect to be back on track in the near future (likely not next week though). This post is to explain what is going on with me in general, and what I'm up to for the next few weeks.
Absent Mindedness
I wrote on three different subjects for this week's blog post, but I didn't like any of the results. I'll try again soon, but to keep some regularity to the frequency of my posts and provide some form of explanation here's a haiku:
Opportune Opacity
For various ambiguous reasons I’ve delayed writing posts this week. Due to a few more ambiguous reasons I find myself writing it now instead of interviewing the NADMO office. The large amounts of ambiguity are suited to the environment that I’m in and thus shall not be clarified at this time. Instead I’m just going to start writing and see if I end up with internet worthy material. I don’t know what this post will be about any more than you do (or possibly even less than you do).
Ambling and Planning
Another week has come to a close and as I pass my Saturday tending the family store and enjoying my biscuits and Fresh Taste I’m taking the time to catch up on a week’s worth of correspondence. I’ve gotten some clarity into the scope of my work and now I have some direction as to where I plan to take it. In this post I’ll talk about my areas of focus for work. I’ve also come to some conclusions about my social change projects, but I’ll explain those at another time.
Households in Ghana
This week’s focused post is on home life. I’ll talk about roles in the household, house structure, family size, in-law relations, and chores. I promise that it won’t be as long as last week’s posts. That was ridiculous.
Food in Ghana
I’ve now been in Ghana for 3 weeks and I’ve had the opportunity to try many of the staple foods of the Northern Region, or at least the Northern part of the Northern Region. For various reasons, largely geographical, Ghanaians have access to a different set of staple foods than those you commonly find in Canada. This post is to talk about the most common foods eaten here in Walewale.
