Public Outreach
To help make Canada the most pro-development country in the world, EWB members engage Canadians, raising their awareness about the urgent need for human development. Our members regularly run events aimed at engaging Canadians in the fight against poverty.
Our major event this semester is EWB Day; this takes place in early March. In previous years, we've ran activities such as a fundraiser for Kiva, a microfinance organization that gives loans to entrepreneurs in developing countries, and flooded the streets of downtown Edmonton, handing out information about fair trade and a sample of fair trade chocolate, many of us attracting extra attention since we wore tea and coffee-cup costumes! See the pictures on our chapter page within www.photos.ewb.ca
